Perfect skin tone sets the perfect canvas for perfect makeup. A very common mistake when choosing foundation is testing it on the back of your hand. This way you most surely will select the wrong tone. Test foundation on your jaw line. Get the one that matches ideally or the closest. And better never go for a darker shade it just makes you look older.

Pardon me while I hyperventilate, but I was just “Minxed” by manicurist to
one of my top four favorite people (BEYONCE!!!), Lisa Logan, and the large portion of my brain devoted to nails is on excitement overload.Lisa is
amazing, and definitely one of the most in-demand nail artists around. She’s so sweet, and we had a blast being total nail nerds
and comparing favorite “mossy gray minty greens” and debating the merits of concrete gray vs storm cloud grey vs almost almost white but not
quite grey. After showing me the insane collection of Minx options she totes around (including some holographic options that she was planning to use on B the next day (seriously? I melted inside when Lisa called Beyonce “B”)) Lisa fixed me up with the newest line of Minx, called Teasers. From one angle they look a certain color, but from a different angle they
look totally different! Amazing. I went with red and gold, and I’m
officially obsessed. And after hearing about Lisa’s celeb clients, I’m definitely in
good company! Check out Minxnails.com to check out the new lines and to find
a salon near you!

Problem 1: My skin has been taking a beating lately, thanks to the frigid winds that whip against it every day, and as a result my face feels uncomfortably tight and flaky, and looks very BLAH. Problem 2: As someone who has combo-to-oily skin, I’ve always been terrified of using any type of heavier cream, even during the winter (I’d rather deal with flakiness than risk breaking out). What to do, what to do?? Well, I recently received an at-home facial kit from Ling Skin Care that promises to restore rich hydration to the skin without causing breakouts, and I was skeptical at first. But celebrity facialist Ling Chan, whose entire skin philosophy is based on hydration, firmly believes that dealing with dehydration issues will end up improving breakouts as well (since overly dry skin leads to an overproduction of oil). After trying out the entire regimen last night, I’m happy to report that she was totally right! The seven-piece kit contains both daily use products, like the gentle Purifying Facial Cleanser and Moisture Plenish (this refreshing serum contains hyaluronic acid to draw moisture into the skin), as well as treatment products, including the Herbal Clay Clarifying Mask and Ginseng Therapy Moisture Mask. After doing the facial on myself, my skin felt amazingly smooth and supple!! And the formulas are ultra light, so I never felt afraid of clogging my pores. At $85, the kit isn’t cheap by any means, but compared to the in-spa facial service which costs over $100 and utilizes the same products, it’s a pretty good deal.
