Everyone’s favorite skater girl, Avril Lavigne, is expanding her horizons beyond catchy tunes and clothes with her new fragrance, Black Star, set to launch nationwide this week at Kohl’s. We chatted with Avril to find all about the inspiration behind her fragrance, and what’s next on the horizon for this multifaceted star.
How much input did you have on the bottle design? (It’s awesome!)
Thanks! I had a lot of input. I sat down and talked about all my favorite elements: I love stars and studs, and my favorite color combos are pink and black. I really wanted the perfume inside to be pink and for the girls to be able to have an item that they can take away and wear. There’s a studded ring on the top of the bottle and they can wear it as a ring or on a necklace. The fragrance comes entirely from my inspiration, and I was really involved in the whole process.
