Beauty Tip: Sleep On Your Back

Like to sleep on your side? May not be so good for your skin. Sleeping on the side can lead to creases forming on the cleavage from physical force of skin on skin. Thats why its better to sleep on your back. Sleeping on your back will not only give you a crease free cleavage but also will help to avoid some facial wrinkles. Get Rachel McAdams’ Oscar Look!

rachelmca.jpgRachel McAdams was also a Oscar’s Beauty top scorer in my eyes! Keeping it in the family, Rachel had her sister Kayleen do her makeup (Kayleen’s work can also be seen on celebs in Teen Vogue!). “We chose our color palette based on the watercolor look of Rachel’s Dress,” said Kayleen. “There was a wash of cool tones in the dress, blue, green, purple, pink so we wanted the eye, cheek and lips to all have this same watercolor sheerness to it.” To get that artistic effect, Kayleen used CHANEL Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Fountain, the rose gold shade in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices, and CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Slate in the inner corners of the eye. She followed up with two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir. Then, she applied CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Rose Comete and a bit of CHANEL Glossimer in Futile. For hair, Rachel turned to  Sebastian Stylist Design Team Member Thomas Dunkin. Thomas shared the step-by-step for the look with Teen Vogue:

1) Start by applying Sebastian Professional Liquid Gloss to slightly damp hair.

Beauty Talk: Cellulite - Identifying the Enemy!

The first days of spring are here and though its still quite long before we bare it all on the beach, it is time to take action to make sure that what we bare is smooth and toned. So I thought it would be good to take a closer look at the cellulite issue. Are you familiar with the orange peel syndrome or as its also called cottage cheese skin? For several years I thought I had cellulite but I

Nature knows best: Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel

witchhazel.jpgI vaguely remember using witch hazel back in the day, when my grandma would apply it to my skin whenever it got irritated and red. I haven’t really used it since then and I had always seen it as more of a medicinal product, so I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about the plant’s numerous skin-beautifying benefits at an event last night for Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel. I already knew that witch hazel has cleansing and soothing properties, but I assumed using it on my face everyday would make it feel dry and tight, as with other astringents. Turns out I was dead wrong: It actually helps your skin achieve moisture balance, which means it works equally well for both oily and dry complexions. Plus the 100% natural formula is super gentle, so even sensitive skin types can benefit from it. Read the rest of this entry »
